Alison Ekwena, MSW, LISW

Alison Ekwena is a licensed independent social worker who received her Masters Degree in Social Work in 1986 from San Diego State University. She is a licensed clinical social worker in Iowa and California. She has worked with individuals and families from diverse populations for over 20 years. She has practiced in community mental health, both in and out of school settings, for over 15 years. Prior to this she worked in a foster care program as a foster care social worker and as an administrator . She has experience with a wide variety of treatment issues with all ages including trauma, abuse, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, family conflicts and communication. She has extensive experience working with ADHD, behavior problems, divorce issues, and foster care placement and reunification or adoption issues with children. She has additional training in play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and family therapy.
